CASA (Central Alberta Soccer Association) is committed to running a program that is focused on long term participation
CASA's long term participation programming starts on the field with the kids. Out technical program promotes training by following ASA and CSA standards and programs which we deliver in a fun, safe and inclusive environment throughout our District touching on each of the four corners of development.
TECHINCAL/TACTICAL - Players will learn and develop fundamental soccer skills with age appropriate content.
PHYSICALLY - Players will learn ABC's through general movements through fun and creative activities and games
SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL - Players will be training in a fun, safe and inclusive, positive and non judgmental environment with players of the same age, and when possible same gender to help players be more comfortable in their environment and maximize their potential in the session. The majority of our Technical sessions are developing individual skill and creating 1 v 1 movements, but players will also have group drills to help promote teamwork and communication.
PHYSOLOGICAL - Players will be challenged in sessions with drills and activities incorporating different decision making aspects through individual skill based drills, 1 v 1 movements and group activities. 1 v 1 helps the players be creative and be their own player. At the end of each session players and coaches debrief, and offer individual feedback.
Further to our on-field training program, we are creating player pathways for those who wish to continue playing soccer in a longer season through the summer months in a continuing Tier 4 program. The creation of CASA united which will allow CASA Players Tier 3 opportunities that will continue through the summer. This program allows players to player a higher level of soccer and more importantly bringing players from throughout the District to create friendships and bonds. This is complimentary to the Tier 2 program offered in one our of Clubs
Along with our Youth Programming, CASA also offers a year round Men's Recreational League and an Indoor Adult Co-ed League. CASA would like to extend this to a viable Women's League as well.
These programs enhance experiences for our Coaches as well, offering them opportunities to Coach at a higher Level. The hope is to mentor our Youth players to become our future coaches by having them assist in Development programs.
